Flexible perovskite solar cells reach the impressive 31% efficiency
In collaboration with scientists from Fraunhofer ISE, Chose Polo Solare Organico, and LEPABE, a groundbreaking achievement has been reached in the realm of flexible perovskite solar cells.
The researchers, boasting one of the highest reported values to date, achieved an impressive 31% power conversion efficiency for flexible indoor perovskite solar cells. Notably, perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are recognized for their high efficiencies under standard sunlight conditions, but this study focuses on their capacity to generate power indoors under low-light conditions.
The team presented three flexible PSC architectures tailored for indoor applications, with varying electrodes for efficiency, stability, and compatibility with large-scale production. The record efficiency values were obtained for devices with carbon-based electrodes, marking a significant milestone in the development of efficient and stable flexible PSCs for indoor use.
The research was supported by funding from Narodowe Centrum Badań i Rozwoju, contributing to the success of this noteworthy achievement.
